Meet Our Staff

 Rev. Mary Gene Boteler, Pastor

Rev. Boteler was called to Second Church in 2006 from Zanesville, OH where she had been a pastor for 16 years.  A native of Mississippi, she has served congregations in Kansas, Tennessee, and Alabama. A graduate and Distinguished Alumna of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, Boteler has served the church both nationally and internationally.  She is married to the Dr. Rick Nutt, who is a professor at Muskingum University; they have two grown daughters.

Andrew Peters, Pastoral Musician

Andrew Peters has served at Second Church since 2007.  He holds degrees from St. Olaf College and the Cleveland Institute
of Music.  He has played organ recitals across the United States and serves as an active member of the American Guild of Organists.  He lives with his family in St. Louis.

Rev. Julie March, Parish Associate 

Rev. March joined the staff of Second Church in 2011.  A graduate of Eden Theological Seminary, she served Trinity Presbyterian Church in University City, MO until her retirement.  Married to the late-Curtis March, a Presbyterian minister, they have six children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Rev. Don Cochran, Parish Associate

Rev. Cochran became a parish associate at Second Church in 2009.  He received his Doctor of Ministry from Eden Theological Seminary in Pastoral Care  and Counseling and retired from Webster Groves Presbyterian Church in 2008.  His wife, Charlet, retired from the Webster Groves School District where she was a full-day kindergarten teacher.  They have two daughters, Andrea Cochran and Laurel Smith, and one grandchild, Caleb Smith.

Rev. Jim Dowd, Parish Associate

Rev. Dowd graduated from Cornell University and Yale Divinity School.  He served four Presbyterian churches in Ohio and Illinois over 40 years retiring in 2003.  He and Betty have three married children and seven grandchildren
